Best Look From Milan Fashion Week
This year Summer Milan Fashion Week was held in the month of September at Milan Fashion Center. Renowned designers like Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, Massimiliano Giornetti, Angela Missoni, Domenico Dolce, and Stefano Gabbana participated in this show. The fashion world remained mesmerized watching their collections that were worn by famous, beautiful runaway stars like Lindsey Wixson, Anna Aelezneva, Kinga Rajzak, Jacquelyn Jablonski and many others.
This year the creations displayed in the Milan fashion week were inspired by various themes and trends like sporty style, mesh fabrics, metallics, complex handwork or deco delight and the fashion of the sixties. Matching combos, trademark stripes, and flower designs were among the eye-catchers. Some of the best looks and best fashion trends showcased in the Milan fashion week, 2012 are described here:
- The sixties: Moschino collection, among many others, brought back the fashion of the sixties with a bang at Milan. Striped outfits, bold geometric trims, trapezoid cuts were among the talking points. Models wore dresses and short jumpsuits high at the neck with some panels cut out in order to expose the skin from the side. Many models wore black-netting dresses over white underwear.
- Metallics: Metallics was seen in Giorgi Armani’s display with star-like crystal, calm moonlit glow, and silvery yet dark fabrics; Alberta Ferretti’s taffetas and sequins in watery blue shimmers with aquatic sparkle.
- Flowers: Designers also used flower prints on their dresses. Moschino used flower print with 3D embellishments on mini dresses. These dresses were inspired by the fashion of the ’60s. Daisy-like flowers were used as an applique on clothes and woven into furs. These were also used to decorate the frame of the sunglasses.
- Sicilian-inspired clothing: This innovative clothing impressed the crowds. Dolce and Gabbana used wicker bustiers, beach prints and baroque-sculpture to wow the audience. Their creations lend a feel of the summer sun and sea. Striped one-pieces in the pinks and blues, lunch-box shaped flat sandals and bags, hoop earrings and sandals that make one remember Sicily’s traditional carts, sculpted platform shoes, corsets were worn over black underwear or under netting also pleaser the fashion gurus and the judges.
